Ten Sustainable Actions

In order to encourage behavior change we’ve compiled Ten Sustainable Actions, one for each month of the academic year. We’ve also partnered with Joulebug?on a mobile app to help make your everyday habits more sustainable through friendly local and national competitions. Follow your friends and neighbors to see how they’re making a difference. Share your favorite stories to inspire others.

  • The energy saved by recycling a single aluminum can, or glass bottle, could operate a television set for three hours, or light a 100-watt light bulb for four hours.
  • An average shower uses about 5 gallons of water per minute. If you shorten your shower by 2 minutes, you can cut your water use by 10 gallons.
